Learning and research tools for every member
Every Ask Fredd member gets an AI learning assistant for questions about investing, and research tools to look up and understand a stock or ETF. These tools are educational. They do not tell you whether to buy, sell, or hold, and they are not investment advice.
Two questions to point you toward a program to learn about. No account details. No pressure.

BUILD AN INVESTING HABIT
Start small. Build your future.
An ETF portfolio shaped around your goals, contributions, and risk tolerance. Fredd Start is designed to help you build an investing habit, with automatic rebalancing as your investment mix drifts.
Start at your own paceNo account minimum or required monthly contribution.
A portfolio with a planYour investment profile guides your ETF allocation.
Keep your mix on trackAutomatic rebalancing brings the portfolio toward its target mix.
Your goals, financial circumstances, time horizon, and risk tolerance help determine your portfolio. Keep that information current as your circumstances change.
What does rebalancing do?
As markets move, the proportions of your investments can drift. Rebalancing adjusts them toward the portfolio’s target mix. It can create trading costs or taxes and does not prevent losses.

$25$1,000
1 year20 years
Starts from $0. Each month, your contribution is added and the membership fee is deducted from the account. Each month’s fee depends on the balance at the end of the prior month: $1 when that balance is under $5,000, and $5 when it is $5,000 or more. This counts only your contributions, with no investment gains or losses, so in a real account the $5 fee could start sooner or later. Fees are not billed separately to a card. ETF expenses are not included.

Total membership fees$60
$25 per month · 5 years
Illustration of membership fees only. It assumes every monthly contribution is made and counts no investment gains or losses, so it does not show what an account would be worth. Ask Fredd’s monthly membership fee is $1 a month while the account is under $5,000, and $5 a month when it is $5,000 or more, using the timing assumption above. ETF expenses, taxes and trading costs are not included. Investing involves risk, and you can lose money, including the amounts you contribute.

Practice before committingPaper Trader brings trade planning and options practice into the same platform.
Both programs include the trading toolkit. Coach adds actionable recommendations on your existing positions, including practice positions. Direct does not evaluate your positions for investment recommendations.
What can I see in my connected account?
Bring your holdings, transaction history, and realized gains and losses into one view. Use the trade desk and Orders alongside research and position-sizing tools; you decide which orders to place.
What makes Paper Trader useful?
Practice with simulated money, record trades and notes, and review positions, lots, and realized gains and losses. It supports multi-leg options tickets and lets you send trades from the trading tools into your practice account.
Paper Trader uses quotes delayed 15 minutes. Simulated fills and results can differ from actual trading. Direct does not include recommendations on practice positions.

Research, trade, and practiceDirect’s toolkit, plus recommendations on live and practice positions.
Opening Positions starts an evaluation if your holdings have changed or the previous evaluation is more than 15 minutes old. Otherwise, your saved review is shown. Evaluations are not scheduled to run while the app is closed. Newly imported positions are subject to an initial validation period.
Does Coach make trading decisions for me?
Coach provides recommendations; you decide whether to act, enter each order, and remain responsible for your trades. The recommendations follow software rules. They can contain errors and do not guarantee an outcome.
See examples and explore the tools
PROFIT-TAKING EXAMPLE
Consider closing a short put.
When the applicable profit threshold is reached, the software may suggest buying back the put to realize the gain.
POSITION-SIZE EXAMPLE
Review the size of a position.
The software may flag a position that is too large relative to the account, so you can consider your exposure.
Illustrations of possible recommendations, not advice to place a trade. What you see depends on your positions, account information, and the applicable rules.

Prewritten education—not analysis of your positions.
Fredd’s explanation
If an option you sold is exercised, you may be assigned. A short put can obligate you to buy shares at the strike price; a short call can obligate you to deliver shares. Understand the obligation before focusing on the premium.

DELEGATE THE DAY-TO-DAY
Your goals. Trading handled.
A managed options account for investors who want to delegate trading. You authorize Ask Fredd to make decisions and place trades within an agreed mandate, guided by your investment profile, risk level, and account restrictions.
Put a mandate in placeSet your goals, risk profile, and investment restrictions.
Delegate the tradingAsk Fredd makes decisions and places trades within your authorization.
Keep a clear viewYour assets remain in your Interactive Brokers brokerage account.
You authorize Ask Fredd to make investment decisions and place trades within your agreement, without asking you to approve each order. Your investment profile and any agreed restrictions guide that authority.
What strategies are planned?
The program is planned to sell cash-secured puts and covered calls within the account’s assigned risk level and restrictions. Selling options creates obligations, including possible assignment, and does not guarantee income or prevent losses.
What happens before management begins?
You will review the program’s fees and agreement, provide your investment information, complete account enrollment, and authorize the mandate. Final terms and eligibility will be provided before enrollment. We will contact waitlist subscribers as availability is announced.
